| May the month for St. Mary - One decade of the rosary will be said after every daily Mass in the month of May. Remember our Blessed Mother Mary by reciting her favorite prayer, the Rosary.
Annual Catholic Appeal - extended to May 31 - Bishop Dupre has made the decision that the Annual Catholic Appeal will be extended another week. if you have not responded , you may do so, by either mailing your contribution to the office or to the volunteer who will come to your door. We are to receive a response from every household in the parish. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. So far we reported $11,682. Registrations: Vacation Bible School registration deadline is May 31. Forms are avavilable at the office. Materials need to be ordered for July 8 - 12, 2002 and teachers need time to get crafts together. Registration fee is $15 for parishioners and $20 for non-parishioners. Thank you. Catholic Observer - June 8 & 9 - Subscription envelopes will be available the next two weekends in church, or you can subscribe n--line @ www.iobserve.org Only $15 a year. Dear Parishioners, On Friday June 7, we celebrate the patron feast of our parish, the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Upon recomendation of our Parish Council, we will have a special High Mass at 6 PM. The Chior will lead us in songs. Please mark you calendars and make every effort to attend this Feast Day Mass. First Friday Schedule: Feast of the Sacred Heart of June 7, 2002 8:15 AM - Confessions 9 AM - Expostion of the Most Blessed Sacrament 9 AM - 5:55 PM - Eucharistic Adoration (church open all day) 5:55 PM - Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament 6 PM - Solemn Mass in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Drodzy Parafjanie, W Piatek, 7-go Czerwca bedziemy obchodzili Swieto Patrona naszej Parafji Najswietszego Serca Jezusowego. Za rekomendacja Rady Parafjalnej, bedziemy mieli specjalna Msze o 6-tej wieczorem. Chor bedzie prowadzil nas spiewem. Prosze zaznaczyc sobie na kalandarzu i postarac sie przybyc na Msze w tym dniu Swieta. Special Events/Mark your Calendar, please!: Memorial Day Service for the Unborn - On Sunday May 26 a memorial Day Service for the unborn will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery, 42 Bay Street Springfield 1 PM to honor the million babies who have been killed by abortion since the Supreme Court Decision of 1973. Memorial Day at St. Stanislaus Cemetery - The Mass for the deceased Veterans will be celebraed on Monday May 27 9 AM @ the Cemetery on Mayher Street. Please bring your folding chairs. Everyone is welcome. In case of inlciment weather, Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church. Pastoral Council Elections - The Parish Pastoral Council will have 5 adult and 2 teen openings. Anyone 18 years or older is eligible. If you would submit your name or another member of the Parish for nomination, please place it in the Sunday Collection. Deadline for nominations is June 2. Election date is June 8/9. Parish Council - The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday June 4 in the Parish Center. All are welcome to attend. Eucharistic Devotion, Expostion of the Most Blessed Sacrament, will take place every First Friday 9:30 AM - 4 PM - The Eucharistic Ministers, who visit members of the Parish who are at home or in the Nursing Homes, are strongly urged to attend Mass prior to their visitations. Ceremony for our new Eucharistic Ministers - You are cordially invited to a prayer service to be celebrated on Sunday June 9 2 PM @ St. Michael Cathedral in Springfield. Bishop Thomas Dupre wil confer Lay Ministry Certification for the Diocese of Springfield. A reception will follow immediately in the Fr. Karl Huller room of the Bishop Marshall Center. Return to Top
