#1: Paper and Cardboard
Keep these materials together and separate from co-mingled materials
What to Recycle:
- Paperback & phone books (remove covers)
- Junk mail (no plastic windows)
- Boxboard (cereal, shoe, cracker boxes, etc.)
- Newspapers/inserts
- Magazines/catalogs
- Brown paper bags
- White and colored paper
- Computer paper
- Corrugated cardboard
How to Prepare:
- Flatten cardboard, remove tape
- Paper must be dry
- Remove plastic liners, windows and wrappings
Do not Include
- Soiled paper
- Pizza boxes or egg cartons
- Waxed paper, plastic windows, wrappings or liners
- String tied around paper

#2 Commingled Containers
Keep these materials together and separate from paper
Glass
What to Recycle:
Glass bottles/jars, all colors and sizes
How to Prepare
- Rinse clean
- Labels may stay
- Lids, collars, neck rings, corks, etc. may stay
Do not Include:
- Other glass items such as window glass, dishes, glasses, Pyrex, ceramics, light bulbs
- Broken glass

- Aluminum cans
- Tin/steel cans and lids
- Aluminum foil
How to prepare:
- Rinse clean
- Labels may stay
- May flatten

- Paint or aerosol cans
- Other metal items

What to Recycle:
- All plastic bottles
- All plastic jars/ tubs
- All plastic microwave trays/ containers
How to Prepare
- Remove caps, lids, pumps and wraps
- Rinse clean
- Labels may stay
- Detergent spouts O.K.

Do not Include:
- Containers > 2 gal.
- Plastic bags
- Motor oil/chemical containers
- Foam containers
- Flower pots
- Caps, lids, pumps or wraps

What to Recycle:
- Milk and juice cartons (tent tops)
- Drink boxes
How to Prepare:
- Remove straws & caps
- Flatten
- Rinse clean
- Commingle with glass jars and metal cans

To Recycle
- Remove all plastic and metal lids, collars and rings, as well as corks from all glass and plastic containers
- Rinse all containers clean
- Set your bin at the curb by 7 AM
- Any clearly marked container of similar size and shape may be used for a recycling bin

Collection Schedule:
Recycling bins are collected every week on your regular trash collection day.
Holiday Schedule:
Whenever a scheduled collection day falls on a holiday, that day's collection and all remaining collections for the week will be delayed one day. Friday's collection will be on Saturday. Holidays are: New Year's, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Replacement Bin/ Missed Collection:
For replacement bin or to report that your bin has not been picked up call the Board of Health at 529-1430.
